Valentine’s Day Date Ideas
Don’t feel like doing the typical dinner, chocolates, and flowers for Valentine’s Day? No problem!
Check out the following ideas for a great Valentine’s Day date.
Hole up in the mountains
Just the two of you, snuggled under the blankets in the cold mountain, with the glinting peenie-wallies for company is just what the doctor ordered for romance.
There are a variety of accommodation options to choose from. You can rent a cabin at Holywell National Park, book an Airbnb, from basic living with no electricity, to luxury and everything in between.
Make your own chocolate
Rather than buy chocolates at the supermarket, how about taking your sweetheart to make their own chocolate? At the One One Cocoa factory in Downtown, Kingston you can make your own artisanal chocolate from start to finish using Jamaican cocoa beans.
Have a spa date
A number of spas around the island offer couple’s massages or spa dates for Valentine’s Day.
Visit lover’s Leap
One of the most picture-perfect spots in the country is Lovers’ Leap.
According to legend, two young slaves, desperately in love, used to meet secretly on the adjoining Yardley Chase Plantation. The owner wanted the female for himself and arranged to have her lover sold. Not wanting to be separated, the two lovers jumped hand-in-hand from the cliff, giving it the name, Lover’s Leap. While the story is tragic, there’s no denying that it’s a beautiful spot to visit with someone you love.
Bathe in the minerals at Milk River
In southwest Clarendon the 221-year-old Milk River Hotel & Spa offers peace and quiet. It is one of the best mineral baths in the world. Soak up the healing minerals with your honey.
Valentine’s on the rocks
Pack up a simple picnic dinner and sit on the rocks by Palisadoes feeling the cool sea breeze on your face.
Whatever you choose to do for your special Valentine’s Day date, you and your honey will have an amazing time!
